Introduction

Sometimes you come across a car that almost feels likes its a secret, and the 911 (997) Sport Classic is most certainly one of those cars, with  250 built worldwide, it is believed there were just 17 UK RHD Cars delivered when new.

The Sport Classic was unique in a number of ways, and set the standard for the basis of the very popular and much more common (although still highly sought after) GTS.

It featured the Carrera S 2 Wheel Drive chassis and running gear, mated to the 4 Wheel Drive (therefore wider) body and received a double bubble roof which was unique to the Sport Classic. Front and Rear bumpers were also bespoke, it brought back the Ducktail rear spoiler for the first time since the 70’s along with re-imagining the Fuchs style alloy wheels for the new millennium.

Every Sport Classic came in the same specification of Sport Classic Grey (very similar to the Crayon of today which we’re now familiar with), with Espresso Brown Leather. It also received a myriad of exclusive detailing both inside and out, all of which add to the exclusivity and special ambiance of the car.

It is brimming with some very special equipment as standard, including the factory Power Kit upping the power to 402 BHP, along with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), a Sport Chassis with Limited Slip Differential, revised springs and dampers along with a 20mm lower ride height and a Short Shift gear lever – they really are as special a place to be, as they are to drive.

Description

The Sport Classic is not a secret to me however, as I supplied this car new to its first owner, so I am delighted to be able to offer the car once again, over 12 years later !

Evidently fastidiously maintained throughout its life as can be seen from the service history outlined below, the car has been cared for properly even though its mileage still remains under 8,000.

Recently benefitting from a Major Service to include all ancillary items due at 12 years, preventative maintenance of replacing the troublesome plastic coolant elbow with a revised design was also carried out.

Complete with all its original handbooks and wallet, a raft of invoices for its service work over the years plus its previous MOT Certificates, this example really does tick every box in both its condition and its provenance.
